Crime Reduction in Caldwell

The Caldwell Police Department takes great pride in recent crime reduction statistics that show a decline in the crime rate for the City of Caldwell. Together with the County and neighboring City law enforcement teams, Caldwell has been successful in an active campaign to lower crime. The overall crime rate in the City and Canyon County has steadily declined over the past few years. The decline can be attributed to prevention measures that have been put into place by the police departments and the partnerships with the school districts and residents of Caldwell who have worked hard to ensure that the City is a safe and healthy place for children and families to live, work and play. In te past few years, Caldwell has benefitted from some wonderful additions to the community such as the YMCA and Mayor's Youth Advisory Council which provide the youth in the community with safe and productive alternatives to crime. The Prosecutor's office, the work of Special Assistant US Attorney has also been instrumental in helping to curb the crime rate by prosecuting offenders to the full extent of the law and making a statement that crime will not be tolerated in this community. On behalf of the City of Caldwell I am happy to announce that all of these great efforts have been successful in making Caldwell a safer place. Thank you to all of the law enforcement agencies, Prosecutor's office and wonderful community parterns who have helped in accomplishing such an incredible task.

1-Year Anniversary

C.A.T.C.H. of Cayon County just celebrated its one-year anniversary. The purpose of C.A.T.C.H. of Canyon County is to assist families with children to obtain housing and provide case management while they pursue self sufficiency. C.A.T.C.H. is not a shelter but rather a very intensive, high-accountability, supportive housing program which represents a short-term, intermediate step between shelter and permanent housing. Since August 2009 C.A.T.C.H. has helped 23 homeless families with children in Canyon County. We are so thankful to the wonderful sponsors and voluteers who have helped C.A.T.C.H. of Canyon County over the past year. Please read the one-year anniversary newsletter to see all of the wonderful things C.A.T.C.H. has accomplished this year.
